The All Progressive Congress party (APC) governorship candidate for Ogun State escapes death narrowly!
Prince Dapo Abiodun the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State and his convoy, were almost hit by assassins believed to be political thugs on Thursday on their way to Abeokuta North Local Government for a rally.

Speaking to press men Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun revealed that the hoodlums attacked his campaign team at Mokola junction leading to Elega axis. The thugs chanting slogans against Dapo, had blocked the road with huge stones, logs of wood and a bus branded APM. When they suddenly started shooting sporadically at Dapo Abiodun and his team, it took the intervention of their (APC) security outfit to curtail any disaster that would have emanated from the brouhaha.
He commended the police team for their gallant bravery in saving their lives.
“When we were approaching Mokola Junction in Abeokuta North Local government, we saw some group of people approaching us, we realised that they were fully armed.
“Suddenly they started shooting. Thank God for the gallant policemen who were on ground and rose up to the occasion and chased them away."
“If not for them, only God knows what would have happened today. It is unfortunate that our politics has gotten to this level where it has become do or die affair."
“We should rather canvas for votes and endear ourselves to the people. That is the only way that we would have peaceful election "
Abimbola Oyeyemi the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) in Ogun State confirmed the incident but submitted that the information at his disposal is still sketchy regarding the attack. He also opined that the command CP has deplored policemen to Abeokuta metropolis to further prevent
the breakdown of law and order.
